A necklace stack does not need to be complicated. A couple of pieces you love, a little space between them, and a neckline that lets them show can be enough. Think of it as getting dressed in your own handwriting.
Start with your favorite piece
Choose one necklace to lead: a small pendant, a textured chain or the piece you already wear most often. Build around that instead of trying to make every necklace the main event.
If your starting piece is detailed, a quieter chain can give it breathing room. If it is minimal, try a different texture alongside it. You are looking for a conversation between the pieces, not a perfect match.
Give each layer a little space
Different lengths help the shapes remain visible. Try a shorter fine chain, a pendant below it, then a longer chain if you want a third layer. Check the stated lengths before choosing a new addition.
Look at the combination with the top you plan to wear. An open collar frames jewelry differently from a high neckline. Move one piece, remove another, and see which arrangement feels most comfortable.
Leave room to change your mind
There is no required number of necklaces and no rule that every finish has to match. A small contrast can feel intentional when you repeat a shape or keep the rest of the look simple.
Wear the combination for a moment and notice how it sits when you move. If it feels busy, take one layer away. The aim is a look you enjoy wearing, rather than a formula you have to follow. Follow the care instructions for each piece when it is time to put it away.
Start small. Try a combination. Keep the pieces that feel like you.
